Age Men are Generally Shorter than Women

A study by researchers from the European Union some time ago may be a warning to men. The study concluded that age men are generally shorter than women.

Only a few men who reach age 65 years, experts say the condition is caused by lifestyle habits and poor men, such as smoking and consuming alcohol.

In that study, as reported by kompas.com, states each year, there were 630,000 men in the European Union died because of unhealthy lifestyles. Meanwhile, the death rate is only half women, about 300,000 lives each year.

Researchers from the University of Sussex, Dr. Richard de Visser said, the lifestyle is not the only trigger premature death. According to him, premature deaths are also caused economic factors or low income as one of the groups at risk. Those with low incomes generally have less healthy foods, less exercise, more likely to smoke and use drugs.

According to Visser, awareness to change an unhealthy lifestyle to be healthy is an effective way to overcome the premature death among men.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ian Banks, President of Europa Mens Health Forum expressed concern over this situation. "It's not just about health. Premature death men would damage the economy, family, female (wife), weakening of social security and health services.

The study should motivate the men to be more serious about reducing smoking and alcohol abstain. Smoking and alcohol consumption can damage the lungs and cause death. (health info)
